Does a court have to decide our visitation schedule or can the other parent and I make the schedule?

If two parties have come to an agreement regarding the time-sharing schedule of their children, it is recommended and in fact encouraged that those individuals prepare a settlement agreement outlining the terms of the time-sharing schedule that they want to exercise. It is never required that the court order a time-sharing schedule. If two parties agree to the time-sharing schedule that they want, they should memorialize that in an agreement and file that with the court.
