CAN A FLORIDA COURT ORDER DRUG TESTING OF THE PARENTS WHEN DETERMINING CUSTODY TIME-SHARING?

If a court is concerned about a child's safety during a parent's parenting time because that parent is alleged to be suffering from substance abuse issues, the court can order that parent undergo drug testing. The grant of authority to order a parent to undergo drug testing or other substance testing is simply to ensure that the child is safe and that there will be no harm to come to the child during that parent's parenting time.
